Engagement Terms & Client Responsibilities
This document outlines the mutual agreement between you, The Client, and Count on K & Associates (referred to as “The Company”) for the provision of accounting and tax services.
1. Accuracy of Information & Reliance
- Your Responsibility: You certify that you are the applicant or an authorized representative and that all financial documents, statements, and information you provide to us (for tax preparation, accounting, or consulting) are, to the best of your knowledge, true, correct, and complete.
- Our Reliance: You understand that we will rely entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the information you give us to perform our services and prepare your returns or reports.
- Honesty & Integrity: You agree that intentionally providing false, incorrect, or incomplete information for the purpose of evading tax or regulatory requirements is unlawful and may lead to legal consequences for you, and may result in the termination of our services.
2. Privacy, Data Protection, and Disclosure
- Confidentiality: We are committed to protecting your personal and financial information. We will only use your data to provide the services outlined in our engagement agreement.
- Required Disclosures: We will not disclose your information to outside parties without your express authorization, except as required by law (e.g., in response to a valid court order or a formal request from the IRS or state tax authorities).
- Data Security: We maintain security practices to protect your information, consistent with applicable privacy laws and professional standards.
3. Payment and Billing
- Service Fees: Our fees for services will be outlined separately in your official Engagement Letter.
- Recurring Payment Consent (If Applicable): If you enroll in our Recurring Direct Draft or AutoPay program (for automatic deduction from your bank account or credit card), you authorize The Company to debit future payments when they are due.
- You understand that changes to your service scope or tax obligations may change the amount debited.
- You may cancel this recurring payment authorization at any time by contacting our office.
- Cancellation Policy: If you cancel our services, final billing will be calculated based on the work completed up to the cancellation date, as detailed in your Engagement Letter.
4. Certification and Acceptance
By accepting these terms, you acknowledge that you have read and understood your responsibilities regarding the accuracy of information provided, our commitment to privacy, and the terms of payment.
